During the Broward College Foundation Board of Directors Meeting on Thursday, February 23, Chair Farlie announced the 2023 slate of executive officers and thanked the elected officers for their service to the Board. On behalf of Broward College and its Foundation, we congratulate each officer for their continued support in uplifting our students and the College community. We look forward to an exciting year ahead.

The Broward College Foundation re-appointed American National Bank (Oakland Park, Fla.) President and CEO Ginger Martin; Division Chief Nurse Executive with HCA Healthcare Natalie Ransom; and Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Cloud 9 Nonprofit Advisors, LLC Jessica Rodriguez to its Board of Directors during its February 23 board meeting.

Their reappointments on the Broward College Foundation board are effective immediately.

Ginger Martin

Ginger Martin is President and CEO of American National Bank in Oakland Park, Florida, a locally owned community bank serving South Florida since 1985. In her 26 years of leadership with the Bank, it has received numerous awards for its strong financial performance and deep community involvement. Ms. Martin is a member of the Board of Directors of the Miami Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She also serves on the Florida Bankers Association (FBA) BancServ Board, Broward College Foundation Board, NSU Ambassadors Board, Broward County Sherriff’s Advisory Council, and Tower Forum Board. Ms. Martin is a graduate of Leadership Broward and Lifework Leadership. She is also a certified John Maxwell speaker, trainer, and coach.

 

 

Natalie Ransom

Dr. Natalie Ransom leads the nursing agenda in advancing nursing practice across HCA East Florida’s 15 hospital campuses, seven free-standing emergency rooms, and 12 ambulatory surgery centers. An accomplished leader and mentor, she has demonstrated clinical and operational excellence in patient experience, clinical excellence rankings, increased nursing satisfaction and engagement, and enhanced recruitment and retention strategies.

A 2011 Frist Award Winner, Dr. Ransom is Certified in Nursing Practice (CENP) and Nurse Executive, Advanced (NEA-BC). She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Capella University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Jessica Rodriguez

Ms. Rodriguez is a Fort Lauderdale resident passionate about helping the community. After 15 years of experience working in the social sector, Jessica opened Cloud 9 Nonprofit Advisors with her business partner in South Carolina. Cloud 9 helps nonprofits transcend the challenges they face. Services focus on amplifying giving, strengthening teams, and connecting changemakers to help nonprofits thrive. Prior to starting Cloud 9, Rodriguez worked as a nonprofit development and marketing executive. She is also a board member of Leadership Broward. A North Carolina native and graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Jessica moved to South Florida in 2009.

 

The following board members were conferred honorary status.  

Beverly Yanowitch

Ms. Yanowitch is a Certified Public Accountant and served as a financial consultant to the Broward College Foundation for 11 years. She previously was CFO of Mackenzie Investment Management, Inc. (Ivy Funds), a publicly held $7 billion multi-entity investment advisory firm. She was a member of the corporation’s Executive Committee and trustee of the company’s 401(k) plan. She also worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she conducted audit engagements for investment management companies (publicly held), financial institutions, TV stations, and hotels and resorts. She has volunteered for the Broward County Library Foundation and the Children’s Place in West Palm Beach and is a graduate of Leadership Boca. Ms. Yanowitch holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Behavior from Lesley University.

Dr. Monica McGrath

Dr. McGrath is an expert in leadership development and executive coaching. She has extensive experience as a consultant and executive coach to Fortune 500 companies and within leadership education programs at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Monica is the owner and principal of Resources for Leadership, Inc., a leadership development and executive advisement practice established in 1994. A background in psychology and education allows her to integrate strong diagnostic skills, critical reflection, and behavioral observation to challenge others to learn and enhance their leadership approach.

Monica holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from Rowan University (cum laude), a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree from Temple University in Adult Learning, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Psychological and Organizational Studies from Temple University.
