Gloria M. Fernandez was appointed to the Broward College Foundation Board of Directors during its May 25, 2023 board meeting. She previously served on the College’s Board of Trustees since October 2013.

During the board meeting, President Gregory Adam Haile, J.D. expressed his gratitude for the service of Fernandez on the Board of Trustees and welcomed her to the Foundation’s board.

Fernandez is a long-term resident of Broward County and is a graduate of the University of Miami, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees. She considers South Florida her home, speaks fluent Spanish (her native language) and conversational French and enjoys the area’s multicultural environment.

Fernandez is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Florida and she currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of HB Capital, a privately-held real estate owner, investor, and developer based in Miami, Florida. The firm focuses on the acquisition, asset management, and development of value-add real estate assets in primary and secondary markets throughout the United States.

Additionally, Fernandez is involved in various community and professional organizations, including Nova Southeastern University (current Real Estate Advisory Board Member), International Council of Shopping Centers, Chaminade-Madonna College Preparatory School (former Chair for Board of Trustees), The Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (former member).

Gloria believes in the importance of serving the community and considers education to be a “passport” for a better future.
