June 21-22, 2023 there were 70 Broward College faculty and staff, alumni, friends, and students who contributed more than $14,000 in philanthropic support towards Seahawk Marketplace, making a difference by alleviating food insecurities, providing students with healthy, balanced meals so that they can focus, and removing the stress and uncertainty of not having the resources needed to access food and hygiene items. We are so thankful for this commitment to student success.

The mission of the Seahawk Marketplace is to reduce hunger and hardship in the Broward College community by creating access to food and personal hygiene care items, providing guidance, leveraging community programs, and offering educational programs on the value of nutrition and healthy lifestyle choices. A third Seahawk Marketplace on the Broward College North Campus will open later this year.

The Seahawk Marketplace is possible thanks to the generosity of donors and partners: The Florida Blue Foundation, Feeding South Florida, LifeNet4Families, Holy Cross Hospital, Publix, CareMax, Broward County Public Schools, the American Heart Association, Walmart, The Batchelor Foundation, and individuals like yourself.
