To build something great — you need a great foundation.

For 50 years, Broward College Foundation has been that bedrock supporting Broward College in empowering the education, programs, and initiatives that uplift our community.

From the first gift made in December of 1971 by Otto M. Burkhardt, an automotive engineer who was a true believer in education and whose endowment lives on today, to our largest philanthropic gift to date – a transformational contribution of $30 million from MacKenzie Scott and her husband Dan Jewett in 2021, there have been thousands of individuals and organizations making a strong impact on creating a better Broward – bolstering economic mobility in Broward County for generations to come.

By investing in students and programs, those who have provided philanthropic support over the past 50 years are making an investment in Broward College to be the foundation for transforming millions of lives in our community – helping students continue their education or start their careers. Thank you.

Please join us on November 5th for the $50 for 50 Giving Day as we commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Broward College Foundation. Together, let’s transform people’s lives – creating impact now and for the future as we celebrate the impact of philanthropy on student success.
