Nan earned her A.A. degree from BC, a Bachelor’s degree from FAU, and a Master’s degree from Barry University. In addition to being a mental health therapist, Nan has been a Supervisor of Court for Dependency and Foster Care, a certified Youth Mental Health First Instructor., and has represented BCPS for the Urban League.

Dr. Glenna Brewster earned her A.S. degree from BC, she then earned her B.S., M.A., M.S., and PhD from University of South Florida, and completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. She shares, "The opportunities I received at BC by being a tutor at the LRC at North Campus and participating in the Omega Phi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa strengthened my ability to communicate effectively and showed me what was possible in terms of what I could accomplish."

Yanique credits her success to BC, where she got start and earned her A.A. Degree. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from UCF and is pursuing her MBA from NSU. Yanique founded an empowerment organization called Own Your Throne, helping young ladies cultivate confidence.

Ackimo earned his A.A. at BC, his Bachelor's at Florida Atlantic University and his Master's at University of Phoenix. He currently works as an Assistant Principle for Broward County Public Schools. Especially during this pandemic, his goal alongside his coworkers is to enrich their students to learn and engage in the virtual classroom. He has worked with students for almost 20 years, with a mission to teach and educate young students to become great, productive citizens. He also is a proud member of PHI BETA SIGMA FRATERNITY, INC. "As an educator for BCPS for almost 20 years, and currently an Assistant Principal, I ensure every child receives a quality education, access to a mentor and a promising future."

John Cordero

Autism Education Teacher

John Cordero earned an A.A. at Broward College, a B.Ed. in Special Education and Teaching at Florida Atlantic University, and an MEd in Special Education and Teaching at Florida Gulf Coast University. He is an Autism Education Teacher as well as an Aftercare Teacher at Broward County Public Schools (BCPS). Here he instructs elementary age students with autism, within a self-contained structured classroom environment. He utilizes various modes of communication to encourage student participation, implements differentiated lessons, student centers, classroom management procedures, and administers diagnostic assessments. Alongside his position at BCPS, John is also a Direct Care Counselor at Jewish Adoption and Foster Care Options.

Dwayne Dalexh Hunt

Dwayne Dalexh Hunt earned an A.A. at Broward College, a B.A. in History at Florida Atlantic University, an M.A. in Higher Education at the University of Mississippi, and an Ed.D. at Northeastern University. He is the Inaugural Vice President Student Services at Yuba College. Here he wants to bring the student services division together and work collaboratively with instruction. Dwayne has many years of experience in the education industry. He has previously served as an adjunct faculty member, an academic advisor, and assistant dean, and many more positions at other schools.

Dr. Johnson works tirelessly to expose inner city youth to scholarship, sportsmanship and professional role models in the sports industry. He has developed an intriguing and very exciting podcast called “Life After Sports”, bringing on famous pro-athletes each week.

Shela earned her A.A. in Criminal Justice at BC. She then continued her education by earning her B.A. in Criminal Justice at FAU, and a M.S. degree at FIU in Higher Education Administration and is completing a second M.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. Shela is an enthusiastic and passionate person and is dedicated to helping college students reach their full potential regardless of their different learning styles.
