Alumnus Panelist: Leighton Allen

Leighton Allen handles breach response and other sensitive situations arising from the misuse of computers and related technology. He follows a process designed to immediately contain exposure, including conducting forensic analysis, deploying experts specially chosen to enhance the protection of privileged and confidential communications. Results guide the implementation of measures designed to comply with legal obligations and prevent additional data intrusion.

Leighton takes proactive steps designed to prevent or forestall cyber-events, taking into account all manner of actors, including nation-states, criminal entities, terrorists, “hacktivists” and well-meaning employees. He carefully monitors trends and changes to cyber “attack vectors,” including social engineering, helping to ensure clients’ risk management guidelines are up to date, practical and effective.

 

Alumnus Panelist: Reginald Andre

Reginald Andre is President of ARK Solvers. Reginald has transformed ARK Solvers from being a break-fix repair shop into a leading provider of IT Services and Support, meeting the needs of business in South Florida.

Since 2010, Reginald has been responsible for developing ARK Solvers vision by coordinating administrative efforts to achieve the company’s expansion goals, new business opportunities and client fulfillment. With over 14 years of business, entrepreneurship, and technical experience his knowledge and IT expertise has been the driving force in successfully growing ARK Solvers. Reginald earned a AS Degree in Business Administration and a AS Degree in Network Service Technology at Broward College. He is also a graduate of Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. He is a participant of local chambers, Business Network International (BNI), volunteers as a Treasurer at William H. Turner Technical High School Booster Program, local schools, provides business advice via SCORE Miami, and takes prime interest in assisting others in any way possible.

 

Alumna Panelist: Tamí A. Phillips

Tamí A. Phillips, Esq. is a native Floridan, a graduate of Ely High School.  She attended Florida A&M University and Broward College and attained a B.S. degree in Political Science. She was also commissioned as a US Army officer. She received her law degree from the University of Miami.

Mrs. Phillips started her career as a Prosecutor with the Broward County State Attorney in 1998. Upon retiring her prosecutor badge she continued to pursue a military career and became a Captain in the US Army JAG Corps, as a reservist. She later opened her own law firm and title company in Davie, FL. She practiced real estate, probate, and business law for 11 years. She continued her studies with Broward College in Accounting to help increase her business acumen.

In 2011, Mrs. Phillips decided to pursue other interests in Washington, DC and closed her practice in Florida. There she attended the Congressional Black Caucus in September 2011 and was introduced to the burgeoning area of business called Cyber Security not realizing in 2014 that she would again pursue another avenue in her education.

Mrs.  Phillips attained an Associate Applied Science Degree (AAS) in Information Assurance, Cyber security, and Digital Forensics at Anne Arundel Community College in 2016.  She interned with the Department of Forensic Sciences where she practiced Digital Forensics. In 2017, Mrs. Phillips was hired at Booz Allen Hamilton, in McClean, VA where she started her Cyber security career.  She worked internally as a Senior Digital Forensic Analyst on the Cyber Incident Response Team (CIRT).  There she worked in Digital Forensics, Incident Response, and Intelligence.  She later began her journey in Privacy at Booz Allen and there she consulted with several government agencies in standing up Privacy Breach Response Teams, working closely with IT units in creating Privacy Impact Assessments, as well as training and standing up Governance, Regulation and Compliance (GRC) tools that govern both Privacy and Cyber security.  Mrs. Phillips later received her Information Privacy Management certification from the International Association of Privacy Professional (IAPP).

As of March 2021, Mrs. Phillips moved her talents to KPMG  US – Advisory where she works in Strategy and Governance of the Technology Engagement Unit. She also relocated back to Broward County.

As a Senior Associate, she consults with high-end clients and provides services and expertise in Information Governance, Privacy Assessments and Audits, Product Privacy, and Data Mapping and Inventories. Mrs. Phillips is both Florida and DC Barred.  Her Motto:  If you can dream it you can achieve.
