Dr. Irmgard Bocchino Honors Scholarship Fund

Dr. Irmgard Bocchino received her A.A. degree at Broward College and worked at her alma mater for 38 years before retiring as the Associate Vice President for the Robert "Bob" Elmore Honors Institute  and Special Academic Projects. She served Broward College as a speech faculty member and debate coach, then as the Associate Dean for Communications on Central Campus.  In her role as Associate Vice President of the Elmore Honors Institute from 2000-2010, Dr. Bocchino worked with the Broward College Foundation to raise more than 2.5 million dollars for Honors Institute scholarships.

David H. Lindemann Memorial Scholarship Fund

David Lindemann served on the Broward College Foundation board for more than 22 years and was a tremendous advocate for education. Through his efforts as the advocacy committee chair, the foundation was awarded the BankAtlantic "Non-Profit Academy Award for Advocacy" presented by 2-1-1 Broward. David will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his commitment to his family and the community, and his passion for education.

Dr. Peggy Turcotte Memorial Scholarship Fund

In 1995, Dr. Peggy Turcotte joined Broward College as a professor and program manager and was promoted to the position of Associate Dean of the college's business administration department in 2000. Prior to her passing in July 2011, Dr. Turcotte embraced cultural and experiential diversity and devoted much of her time and energy to Broward College's students, faculty and staff.

Lessie Pryor RN-BSN Scholarship Fund

Lessie Pryor retired from her position as Broward College's RN-BSN Program Manager in August 2010, Ms. Pryor continues to support the educational endeavors of registered nurses who return to Broward College in pursuit of a bachelor's degree in nursing. To honor her commitment and reinforce her philosophy that "all patients should be treated with compassion and humanity," members of the RN-BSN program created this scholarship.

Christine Myers Memorial Scholarship Fund

Christine Myers held two jobs while pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Broward College and aspired to own a child day care center. Highly motivated and always on the go, Christine's life tragically ended in September 2005. Established in her memory, the Christine Myers Memorial Scholarship Fund assists students studying Early Childhood Education or Early Childhood Teacher Education.

Michelle A. Lawless Environmental Science Scholarship Fund

Florida Wildlife Officer Michelle A. Lawless, former Broward College employee and graduate, died in the line of duty on October 27, 2007, while protecting wildlife in the Florida Everglades. Officer Lawless was a strong believer in protecting and preserving the environment for future generations. Established in her memory by family and friends, the Michelle A. Lawless Environmental Science Scholarship provides scholarships for female students seeking an Environmental Science degree at Broward College.
